Can it track the specific services that my organization provides clients? Yes. In the software, you set up your own specific social service programs and your own specific service codes. For each client, you then input data using these programs and service codes.

Does it have case notes? How many? Yes. For each client you can enter as many case notes as you wish. Each case note can be as short as a few words or as long as many pages.

Will it create the reports that my funding sources require? Usually a funding source will have a specific format that it wants for reports from agencies. The approach of Client Service Tracker is to provide you with a way to calculate the numbers that go into those reports. It does this be generating Excel spreadsheets of its data. You or someone in your organization can then use Excel functions to get counts or sums of many types of information. Whether you can get the specific information that a specific funder requests is something that you should determine by testing out the software.

Can I put it on a network and let multiple people use it? Client Service Tracker is intended for, and license for, use on stand-alone computers. You can put Client Service Tracker in a shared folder on a network server and let one person at a time use it. Letting several people use it at the same time is more problemenatic. The reason is that Client Service Tracker is an Access database, and Microsoft did not design Access as a multiple-user database. Some organizations do have Access databases with several users with little or no problem. With multiple users of an Access database there is an increased risk of data corruption. If you do decide to put it on a network, you assume the risk of any data corruption problems, so make sure you have a good back-up-and-recovery procedure, and back up the database nightly.

Can I test the software before I license it? Yes. You can download and try the demo software for free. The demo software is the same as the real software, except that it is limited to only 25 client person records and does not have your agency's name stored in it.

Note: Client Service Tracker is a Microsoft Access database that also uses Microsoft Excel and Word. You must have Microsoft Office Professional 2003 or 2007 installed on your computer to use Client Service Tracker.
